Binary Converter
Convert a binary number to decimal, hex and octal and back, with grouping by 4 bits (nibble) and 8 bits (byte) for easy checking.
Accepts 0b prefixes and space/underscore grouping, with big-integer math so long binary strings stay exact.
Features
- Binary, decimal, hex and octal — Shows decimal, hex and octal results plus the bit length in one pass.
- Grouped view — Groups by 4 and 8 bits so long strings are readable and easy to verify byte by byte.
- Big-number safe — Big-integer arithmetic; binary strings beyond 2^53 convert exactly.
How to use
- Enter a binary number on the left (e.g. 1010, 0b11111111, 1111 0000).
- The right side instantly shows decimal, hex, octal and bit length.
- The "Grouped view" panel gives 4-bit and 8-bit groupings.
FAQ
Why is my binary flagged invalid?
Binary uses only 0 and 1; any 2-9 or letter is invalid. For other bases use the Any-Base Converter.
How do I convert text to binary?
That is text encoding - use the Hex view in the Encode tool; this tool focuses on numeric base conversion.
